We are a group of art lovers, collectors, curators, artists and community organizers dedicated to promoting, supporting and educating adults and children about the work of Canadian women artists. We are one of nearly 30 groups internationally and in the United States affiliated with the National Museum of Women in the Arts. The Museum is located in Washington, D.C. in a landmark building near the White House. NMWA offers the single most important collection of art by women in the world and is dedicated to celebrating the highest creative achievements of women

Join Us and Get Involved
By joining the Friends of NMWA—Canada, you support programs for Canadian artists including gallery and museum visits, lectures, special events, cultural trips. We support art in our schools through the Museum's Exploring Art book series for students and teachers. Friends of NMWA—Canada succeeded in getting the work of Vancouver based artist, Jin-Me Yoon in an international exhibition at NMWA, Washington, D.C. in spring, 2008.

A portion of your membership fee includes membership in the Museum in Washington, D.C., which means that breathtaking works of art by gifted women artists will be rediscovered and presented to diverse audiences and remain in the public eye for centuries to come, gifted women artists of our own time will receive the recognition they deserve and the Library and Research Center will continue to build its unique repository of materials documenting women's contribution to the arts.
